Swan Hill Aerodrome Business Case

Background

The Swan Hill Rural Council operate the Swan Hill Aerodrome and desired to identify how it can best add value to the community.

Business Challenge

The development of the business case required the development of a shared understanding of the aerodrome’s current capability, the opportunities and trends that are likely to influence the demand for the services associated with the aerodrome and the future development it may require.  This also included a review of the feasibility of a number of potential uses that had been identified through consultation with Council and other key stakeholders.

How We Helped

We developed a business case that assessed the feasibility of future development at the aerodrome and the cost/benefit of such development to the community and the Council.  The business case identified what could be done to maximise the aerodrome’s current capability and the most immediate investment required to secure such capability for the community and the local economy.

Performance Delivered

The business case articulated the case for immediate investment in the upgrade of the aerodrome’s sealed runway as well as the potential for attracting a major flying school operation to be based in the aerodrome precinct.
